There are things in our lives where it is a constant battle just like an addiction to food can be a bondage as this may be detrimental to health yet this is just an example of how people including Christians were seldom aware of. I was reading up on this leaflet that was written by Brother Hall who talked about his fasting regularly and how his health got better even his hair has not thinned. In fact he has a thicker hair after 50 years ago. And many great and wonderful revelations that come to him, even the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Our bodies saved from all sickness, even accidents.
It is through fasting that the greatest revelations has come about. There are three great fundamentals of Christ which I have learned
2. Prayer-
"“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him."
Jesus has taught us how to pray;
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. (Matt.6:5-15)
3. Fasting
“When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 17 But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, 18 so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.pdf about fasting and its benefits. Not only it is good in our health but we can also learn about this subject in the bible.
This points of fasting as a solution or remedy for all difficulties or diseases. Against all the evils of backsliding, and the indifference and superficiality that saps the energies of the church.
As believers of Christ we share our trials and tribulations and when we are facing the storm of life, when you go on fast and nearly always something happens to ease the situation.
There was this business man who has financial trouble and on the verge of losing his house. In his despair, he forgets everything, even to feed himself. With many days fasting, may times he will find a way out. We can see the mercy of the Lord over the man even though he may be aware of the fact.
We are told that the Lord allows it to rain on the just and the unjust.
There is power in prayer and fasting and prayer alone is not half the battle. But we have to know that fasting is not the cure-all for physical and moral problems, its all about Jesus! He is the answer!
fasting has power to help people in their work and with their problems, just imagine how much more effectively powerful force for the glory of Jesus.
Dan. 10:2. Daniel was no more entitled to this revelation than any other man, but since he had sought it by fasting and prayer, it was given him.
Esther, when about to intercede with Ahasuerus in behalf of the Jews, commanded the Jews of Shushan to fast for three days; this was for the purpose of obtaining wisdom as well as divine favor. Esther 4:16.
After Saul fasted and prayed for three days, it was revealed to him that Ananias would come and restore his sight, and likewise reveal “what he must do.” Acts 9:7.
More and more people will receive this spiritual power as soon as they follow through the complete teachings of Jesus.
